How did you get here?
I spent my youth as a river guide. The work helped my spirit soar, but beat up my body. I was astonished to discover that yoga not only brought me physically back into balance, but provided me the same deep sense of joy and grace that I felt on the water.
I was curious about yoga since childhood when I witnessed the vitality and grace it provided my Aunt Marti who would travel to India to study. After finishing law school, moving to Bend, OR, and starting my law practice in 2006, I was looking for some way to stay in balance. I started practicing seriously in 2007, and found my root teacher, Chase Bossart, in 2009. Although I have abundant experience teaching power vinyasa, I now specialize in viniyoga, the traditional form of yoga that emphasizes the one-on-one teacher-student relationship. With a deep grounding in the primary sources of yoga philosophy such as the Yoga Sutra, I teach all eight limbs of yoga equally.
I don’t teach anything new. Yoga has been a reliable road map to positive transformation for millennia. I just translate the ancient texts for a western audience.
When not teaching and practicing yoga Pam is an attorney with the Western Environmental Law Center.
